Realme 12 Pro+ in for review
Realme today unveiled the Realme 12 Pro series, which consists of the Realme 12 Pro and Realme 12 Pro+. We’ve received the Pro+ model in Submarine Blue color at the office for review, but before we proceed with its tests, let’s do a quick unboxing of the smartphone.
The Realme 12 Pro+ comes in a yellow-colored retail package, including a protective case, a charging cable, a 67W power adapter and a SIM ejector tool.
The Realme 12 Pro+ packs a 6.7″ 120Hz FullHD+ curved AMOLED display with a fingerprint reader embedded, which we found to be fast and accurate in the short time we spent with the phone. The display also has a centered punch-hole for the 32MP selfie camera (IMX615).
Turn the phone around, and you see a design similar to the Realme 11 Pro+ since it features the 3D Jubilee Bracelet spanning the length of the back cover, interrupted by the centrally aligned camera island. The back panel of the Realme 12 Pro+ uses vegan leather, which is “crafted from dirt-resistant high-end silicone materials” to offer a luxurious feel. The panel is indeed nice to touch and prevents fingerprint smudges while providing a good grip.
While the Realme 12 Pro+’s design looks similar to the Realme 11 Pro+, it now sports a circular camera island bigger than its predecessor. It houses LED flash and three cameras – 50MP primary (IMX890, OIS), 64MP periscope telephoto (OV64B, OIS), and 8MP ultrawide. The telephoto unit has 3x optical zoom and 6x in-sensor zoom.
A Golden Fluted Bezel surrounds the camera island and has a Polished Sunburst Dial, creating a nice visual effect when light hits it at different angles. These make the Realme 12 Pro+’s Submarine Blue version look premium.
Under the hood, the Realme 12 Pro+ has the Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 SoC with up to 12GB RAM and 256GB storage. The smartphone runs Android 14-based Realme UI 5.0, and packs a 5,000 mAh battery with 67W charging support.
The rest of the Realme 12 Pro+’s highlights include IP65 rating, 5G connectivity, Hi-Res dual speakers, and Dolby Atmos. We have started our review process, so stick around to find out how the Realme 12 Pro+ performed.
