Tecno Pova 6 will have the same overall design and a Helio G99 chipset, Play Console reveals
The Tecno Pova 6 Pro was announced a couple of weeks ago at the MWC with a Dimensity 6080, a 6.78” 120Hz AMOLED display and a 6,000mAh battery with 70W fast charging. Now a vanilla model has surfaced on the Google Play Console.
The Tecno Pova 6 (model number LI7) will be a 4G only phone (whereas the Pro gets 5G connectivity). This is with an MT6789/CD chipset, which corresponds to the Helio G99. It’s paired with 8GB of RAM as standard, though apparently there will be a version with 12GB as well. Storage will be up to 256GB (as seen on the label).

Also, the Console gives the screen resolution at 1,080 x 2,436px – exactly the same as the Pova 6 Pro. And since the phone’s overall dimensions re the same (as we’re about to see), the screen diagonal should be the same too. But whether we’re still looking at a 120Hz AMOLED panel is unclear (the G99 chip supports FHD+ displays at 120Hz, so that shouldn’t be a limitation).
FCC docs confirm that this is a 4G device. They also offer a look at the back, which has the same styling as the Pro model. Additionally, the docs show that the vanilla model will have the same 6,000mAh battery (listed as 5,850mAh) with 70W charging (20V at 3.5A).
The Tecno Pova 6 measures 166 x 76 x 8mm, which are essentially the same dimensions as the Pro model. Besides the more powerful 5G chipset, the Pro has a 108MP main camera and 32MP selfie. Whether these features survive the transition from Pro to vanilla is not clear yet. The Pova 5 (which also used the Helio G99) was quite similar to the Pova 5 Pro.
For reference, we’ve included images of the already official Tecno Pova 6 Pro above. There is no word on when the vanilla Pova 6 will be joining it.
