Apple Vision Pro 2 isn’t coming in the next 18 months, new report says
Apple releases a new iPhone family every year like clockwork, but the same won’t be happening with the Vision Pro line of headsets, according to a new report from Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, who is generally very accurate with Apple-related rumors.
Gurman says the Apple Vision Pro 2 headset is at least 18 months away from launch at this point, so Apple is clearly using a different strategy for these compared to its smartphones.
The Vision Pro 2 is to arrive in August 2025 at the earliest, but it wouldn’t be surprising for its launch to be pushed to September so it can coincide with the announcement of next year’s iPhones.
Interestingly, Apple is said to have been extremely interested in the reasons people gave for returning the Vision Pro, with the feedback being passed from the retail stores to the company’s headquarters in order to help make the Vision Pro 2 better.
Previous rumors from different sources claimed the next Vision Pro would only arrive in 2027, but that feels like too much time to give a first-generation product on the market. What seems more likely is the claim from another past rumor, namely that Apple is working on a cheaper, non-Pro Vision headset that will also arrive next year.
